Village Ideas

Ok, so I thought this would be a cool idea, to add to the roleplay factor! If we could leave our village, and become missing-nin (maybe for rpp's) that'd be kinda cool. Its not anything great or nuthin, but it would add to the theme in a way. Perhaps it could have a drawback, of like... every skill is then considered a foreign village skill, or somethin. For instance, say I left my village, and started an orginization (not a clan family), that was investing itself into the downfall of time village... that'd be good rp, no? Sure it kinda sounds familiar, but thats what naruto is kinda about... warring ninjas and factions, villages, and clans. Whatcha ya'll think?

Well, in order for someone to stay a missing-nin for very long, he would have to be at least A-rank if not S-rank. The teams villages send out to recapture/kill missing-nin are composed of some of the best ninja in the village, so evasion of the teams would be very hard for the missing-nin. Also, the missing-nin would have to be strong enough to fight off a team, in case they actually caught up with him and forced a confrontation. Another thing to think about is this: all the missing-nin we've seen so far have been S-rank ninja.
Something to consider in terms of RP is that any time a strong ninja sees a missing-nin from his village he will attempt to bring in the missing-nin. So as you walk around the Time village, or outside the village, anyone who sees you will try to attack you. Thus this won't work outside of RP until the available areas are greatly increased in number; otherwise, you should be attacked by everyone in the village and everyone connected to the village, which would mean PK outside of the arena which is not allowed. Even though the idea has merit, it won't work well in NarutoMUD as it is right now.
Plus, by the time someone was strong enough to make it as a missing-nin, the "drawback" of having all jutsu be out-of-village wouldn't phase him at all, because he doesn't need to learn new jutsu.

Yeah, the whole reason I made note of said "drawback" is to discourage weaker players from leaving their village. I do have to agree with you that the whole area thing would be a slight problem.

The biggest problem that I see with implementing missing-nin status is that it could really only be a non-RP thing. Most people will either flee or fight when they meet a missing-nin. If a person where to stay and fight, it is unlikely that they would leave the missing-nin alive, and if they did the missing-nin would be returned to their village for a trial or at least incarceration. I see it as being very unlikely that a person would be spared by a missing-nin if the missing-nin were to win. Either of these situations leads to someone character likely being killed/put away for life in an RP situation. Unless someone is actually looking to have their character effectively eliminated from RP forever...this is something that should pretty much be completely avoided.
As far as plotting the downfall of Uchuugakure...Why? There's not really enough major history of Uchuugakure that's been stated anywhere (as far as I know) for anyone to have a reason (that would make any real sense) to be plotting the downfall of Uchuukagure.
The non-RP aspect of being a missing-nin would pretty much be as Yamashita stated: PK outside the arena, plus a limited number of places to hide/ways to move about, equals a bad situation for whomever becomes a missing-nin.
Basically, I can't really see any benefits to being a missing-nin, for anyone, at least not with the way the MUD is now. Maybe someday in the distant future, but not now.

I feel missing-nin would be very roleplayable.
Yes, a person might flee or fight when they see a missing-nin. But are there other choices?
Lots of things are roleplayable, it all depends on the people and the setup.
Inyi wouldn't think twice about offering medical aid to a missing-nin. She only sees someone hurt, and that takes priority.
Someone with less-than-patriotic feelings towards the village might a) not care about the missing-nin status at all (unless the missing-nin is completely off his/her rocker), b) or feeling a sense of kinship, could even be drawn towards them.
Of course, if the missing-nin is all getup as someone else, (a missing nin that actually wanted to live long, perhaps) that works as well....
