Keiko and Yamashita: A Brief Meeting in the Nakama Docks

Nakama Docks - N -

Ah, the docks of Nakama! The smell of fish and spray of water is thick upon
the air. The docks are extremely popular, owing to the fact that they offer
children a chance to play within the shallow waters, and an opportunity for
the local men to earn a living through fishing. The air is filled with the
grunts of fishermen hauling up nets, and the delightful shouts of the young.
To the north lies the path leading to the residential area of Nakama, while
a small side dock extension spreads out to the east. Raised in the middle of
the docks is a giant bronze statue.

Exits: North East South.
A woman, visiting Nakama, stands here in awe at the statue.
Yamashita, the Fierce Claw of the Sound is standing here.
--------
Slowly circling around the giant statue, Keiko lowers the red bandana that covers her face, her head craning up to get a better look at the statue.

Yamashita notices for the first time someone taking note of this statue he had always overlooked. "An interesting piece. Do you know anything about it?" Yamashita asks the girl.

Keiko suddenly freezes and whirls around to face the man, her gloved hand reaching for the pouch at her thigh.

Releasing a relieved breath of air after noting the man's forehead protector, Keiko relaxes and simply nods in response.

"Whoa, whoa. Didn't mean to startle you. I've just never seen someone staring so intently at this statue," Yamashita says. "Who is it?".

"I'm.. not sure," Keiko absently lifts her shoulders, her head craning to take one more glance at the statue. "I was just trying to figure that out myself.".

Keiko simply smiles and delicately rearranges the fishnet material of her dress over her armor, "Keiko.".

"Keiko, eh? A pretty name for a pretty girl. What brings you out this way, Keiko-chan?" Yamashita asks..

Drawing her headband further away from her mouth, Keiko hesitates for a moment before speaking, "I'm just wandering around," With a squint of her eyes towards Yamashita, she cocks her head to the side, "What about you?".

Yamashita brandishes the sword given to him by his best friend. "I've been working on clearing out the thieves plaguing the area, but their leader always seems to manage an escape," he says, sounding somewhat frustrated..

Keiko curves her soft lips into a gentle 'o' as she nods her head in understanding, "Sounds like fun.. Any new leads?".

Yamashita takes a good hard look at Keiko, considering whether she might be in with the theives. He notices her forehead protector and suddenly feels at ease. "I think I've actually found their base camp. I might just get them this time.".

Keiko briefly meets Yamashita's gaze before letting her eyes shift towards the shallow waters not far off, "Well, do you need any help?".

"Alright, if you say so," Keiko mutters, her head tilting back to survery the darkening sky.

With a soft sigh, Keiko eventually turns her attention back to Yamashita, "So, can you tell me more about these thieves?".

"I suppose it couldn't hurt," Yamashita says, "They've been stealing valuables from the locals, and the local police haven't been able to find out mcuh from those they captured. I've been tailing them after their heists to find their base.".

Keiko wrinkles her nose as she perches down at the base of the large statue behind her, "Really? Now, that's not that bad.".

"However, the leader has a very unique fighting style. She can turn my most powerful attacks into chances to hurt me just as bad, if not worse." Yamashita winces as he recalls his early battles with the woman..

Wincing along with Yamashita, Keiko dips her head in a slight nod as she supports her head with her hands, "Sounds pretty powerful. Can you take her on by yourself at all?".

Of course I can. I've battled her many times and have learned how best to fight her. She won't get away this time." Yamashita claims, the scent of impending victory at his nose..

The murmuring of scholars and whistling of the wind sweeps through the island.

Keiko leans back lazily against the bronzed leg of the statue, her kohl-lined eyelids slowly lowering, "I wish you luck on that, Yama-sama...".

"Thanks. I had better be off, or I'll lose the light. Have a good evening, Keiko." Yamashita waves goodbye to Keiko as he turns and heads up the lane into Nakama.

Lazily lifting her hand in the direction of Yamashita's retreating form, Keiko closes her eyes completely and doses off.
