IMO that change sucks, I dragonpunch everything and thats the only way I get decent experience. I disagree with the change because Dragonpunch almost always overkills something. You should change it back.

You don't get penalized for over-killing something. In fact, if you did 1,000 damage to an NPC with 1,000 HP, you'd gain the same experience. However, the formula definitely had a problem in it. It was the same issue awhile back with Kage Bunshin, which had only 1 HP, if you hit them with any attack they gave you a ton of experience.
So, hitting an NPC with a giant attack if they have 1 HP is not penalized in any way. However, you won't gain MORE experience by doing that. That was the problem, it rewarded people doing a massive attack that just obliterated them. I think if anything we could just tinker with the mobs you fight and toughen them up a bit. That'll probably fix your experience issues.

I went over all the Hitokurou NPCs and started making adjustments. I had a couple players around your level, who use your same NPCs to level, check it out and they felt it was pretty good. Hopefully you think so, too. Really, I think when there are instances when NPCs your level are so easily kill-able by one shotting, without even trying, we should take a closer look and see if the NPCs just need to be adjusted.
