It would be really spiffy if we could have a custom genjutsu addition which paralyzed the victim making it so they couldn't move.
Another good addition would be one that forced sleep upon the victim. Or there could be one that made it so that the player's hp/chakra/stamina gauge was unreliable . It would also be pretty cool if there was a module that would hide the user from others in the room effectively making them invisible.
Still yet another great thing would be a menu so you could choose which practiced genjutsu bits you were using.
Genjutsu Additions
Re: Genjutsu Additions
I normally don't like to tip my hand this much, but I have 3 Genjutsu left that I'd like to imp, but I'm not sure they aren't so out of balance that they'd be game breakers. I know one is one Shiro mentioned, but I'll name it again. This skills are obviously insanely rough, and, like I said, I like them but they might be too powerful to put in the game.
Also, try to make sure to propose how long these Genjutsu Effects will last and approximate Chakra cost for casting it.
- Skill Confusion
- - Have a chance, maybe 30%?, to not perform the skill you want but a different skill from the same branch.
- For example, you try to do "God Fist" but end up doing "Double Kick" instead.
- - Freezes you from doing anything for a period of time.
- - Every second you have this, it gives a chance to instantly die.

Re: Genjutsu Additions
I like the idea of skill confusion, but as I have very little experience with the genjutsu system I can't really weigh in on duration or cost. Concerning Paralysis, I'd think that it would completely paralyze you with some sort of chance to succeed at Break and Genjutsu Kai based on some combination of Int, Wis and Lck (probably throw genjutsu level in there too), so that one can still release one's self if they're good/lucky enough. On the subject of instant death, I am always of the opinion that instadeath is always a bad thing to give to players, even with chances to fail, as it removes the combatitive nature of the game. In very few cases in Naruto do we see Genjutsu completely devastate a person, which is what this instant death would do. Genjutsu is used mostly in Naruto as a stalling measure or to disable another character, but, with the exception of the Tsukuyomi (the Mangekyou Sharingan genjutsu), it always takes a fair amount of time to do serious damage.Gatz wrote:Skill Confusion

Re: Genjutsu Additions
My only thought to how Instant Death could be balanced could be something where it costs a great deal of chakra, 500-1000, and lasts a short duration, 5 seconds unboosted. The chance to die would be somewhere between 10-30%. It could mean a swift end to a fight, but also it could mean the user was burnt out on Chakra.

Re: Genjutsu Additions
IF you were going to do instant death like that, I think it would need to more like 2500+ chakra for a 5% to 20% chance.

I agree that, were this implemented, it would need to be powered down dramatically, but I still maintain that instakill, even with low chances of success, is incredibly dangerous and overpowering.
