On the builder port, I was just messing around with mobs, when I thought, Why don't I try to make an animal companion, like Kiba and Akamaru? I thought about it, and talked with Ichiro about it, and we've determined that in order to make a proper animal companion, You would need a separate job/class, beyond ninja.
While thinking about how it should be it's own separate class, Ichiro suggested that the animal companion job/class should be a lot like the samurai job/class. A character would have something that leveled up like a player would, just like the swords in the samurai job/class. Except when your animal companion "dies", it would be teleported somewhere else, or you would have to carry it around to safety. At this point in development, I just want to know if people like this idea or if they dislike it...
I would appreciate any and all criticism!

I would suggest having a set period of time depending upon the gravity of the wound, i.e. hp loss, wherein you can use 'aid' to stabilize your animal until you can get to a hospital/medical unit. If the user cannot get to the animal in time, the animal dies and the user will return to some sort of shop where a new animal companion can be obtained, for a price dependent upon the starting level of the animal. Also, I would suggest that a new "high-level" animal companion would be harder to train to do your bidding than a new "low-level" one. Additionally, I would set up a system like the 'flist' system for cooperation with your animal companion, and at varying levels of "friendship", i.e. comfort with each other, different new commands/jutsus become available due to how well they know each other and their abilities.
