New battle ability

Shunshin no Jutsu -- Body Flicker Technique

Level 15

Basically, this would be a skill that lets you move over more than one room at a time by typing shunshin <direction> <#>, at the cost of stamina and chakra. The lower the percentage in the skill is, the more it costs. Experience in it gained through use.

Level 30

If the first level of the skill is 100% at this point, you unlock level 2, which lowers the costs of using the skill outright, and increases dodging (user int/dex vs enemy int/dex) in combat slightly. Experience gained from passive use in combat.

Level 60

If both level 1 and 2 are 100% by this point, you unlock the 3rd and final level. Lowers costs again, increases dodge rate again. At 100% adept, it becomes easier to anticipate opponent movement, giving a chance for opportunistic striking in openings(?). Mastering this level of the skill should be very hard. Experience gained from passive use in combat.

I think I am starting to either rub off on other players or you guys are rubbing off on me...I was just thinking of adding this skill.....

The only thing I'd add is you can pair this with a skill and make it make the skill un-dodgable, for an obvious trade off in cost a la Leap/Dai. Also...if you pair Shunshin with Leap, it'd let your Leap expand from the normal 1 or 2 rooms (I can't remember off the top of my head) to be 5 rooms, with the obvious catch that if you do a Shunshin Leap Dai God Fist, it is going to cost a hellova lot of Stamina.

I'm totally game for your addition! I'm glad I wasn't the only one thinking about this one. It's one of my favorite general skills in Naruto and Bleach (well, back when Bleach wasn't completely god awful).

Oh shoot...I just realized this was set to be a BA. I think this belongs as a skill. Are you thinking this really should be a battle ability everyone gets?

I was reading about it on a couple different sites, and they all say it's a D rank skill and pretty much everyone Genin+ has it, so yeah.

If everyone gets it, it sort of makes it a bit mute. Since that means all NPCs get it, too. If I put this in, it'd be as a Taijutsu move. I think BAs need to be okay to be given to everyone and this affects combat a bit too much.

But this would be something that would -actually- begin to differentiate between low-level characters and high-level characters, especially if you have maybe 5 or 6 levels of this instead of just 3.

Also, perhaps have a flag for NPC's (something like 'Ninja', or maybe 'Samurai' if that ever shows up) so that only some NPC's have the ability. (Why should random bandits have it?)

Correct. Maybe have an improved version as a taijutsu skill? But I think it should be a battle ability in some form.

I agree with Ichiro on this one, I think that this would be best as an ability, and have a taijutsu skill that would enhance the ability portion.
